Good Safe, Moderate choices?

I'd like your advice on finding some Safe and Moderate school choices. I will be a senior in HS next year in an urban public school. My qualifications are:

SAT: math 620, writing 690, reading 740
SAT II: math level I 600, U.S. history 690, biology E 740

Class rank: top 10% (comming from a graduating class of 800+)

Activities: Student Council 3 yrs: community service chair, senator; NHS Vice President, Varsity Crew team captain, Headmaster's Advisory Panel 2 yrs, International Language Club 2 yrs, Certified Crew Coach, Part-time job at Boys & Girls Club (had been volunteering for 3 summers), volunteering at hospital

My school does not have a standard 6.0 or 4.0 GPA so I'm guessing it's a 3.5-ish. I have taken four AP classes so far and plan to take four next year. I have also done course work at University of M.A. Lowell and not-for-credit work at M.I.T.

Thank's for any advice :)

Any ideas on what you like, what you don't like? Large school, small school, private school, nearby school? City, boonies? What departments do you need to be strong. Any school at all that you like? Are finances an issue? Willing to go cross country or to the south?

Good point. I like a larger school, public or private, in the city or very close to one. I plan on going premed so I need a strong sciences/ premed program. I also want a school which is well rounded and offers many areas of study (but not necessarily a LAC). I'm from Boston and would love to stay in the area but have no problem going to any metropolitian area in the US. If there are schools which fit this that are on the more affordable side then double great.

I hope that helps you a little, and thanks cptofthehouse for making me think about these questions.
