Good schools for a B student?

Hey guys this is my first post.
Well anyway, I'm looking for schools that have a good comp sci major.

My GPA in 9th grade was a 3.1
GPA in 10th grade was 3.25
GPA in 11th grade is a 3.5

In 11th grade I plan on taking AP comp sci and the rest of my classes will be honors.
I really screwed up the first two years in highschool...

As far as extracurriculars go i am a captain of a high school vex robotics team and we went down to Dallas and next year I am planning to be a captain again.

I'm not in all aps and i'm surely not the top of the class but I'm looking for some good comp sci schools.

I know the "typical" choices. UC Berkeley, Caltech, MIT, CMU.
But my chances of getting in there are probably slim to none.

I live in NJ so the common comp sci state schools are Rutgers and NJIT.

Any ideas?

have you looked into WPI, and RPI? Both of them are in your area, and both schools have great CS program

I’ve never even heard of those schools before. But i guess that’s why i made this post so i could find out about more schools that would be right for me.

Anyway here’s my golden question. How do you compare one school to another? What separates one school from having a really good cs program to a school having a mediocre cs program.

Hm, I’m not completely sure about the GPA requirements for it but why don’t you consider CalPoly?

i dont know about cs. but for computer engineering theres uni. of illinois urbana-champaign. and georgia tech. both have fairly high acceptance rate :). btw. you really should look into engineering. have fun.

University of Maryland, College Park, is not too easy to get in to. I just talked to a Maryland resident with a 3.8 who was waitlisted.
