what are some engineering and/or science colleges not in MIT level but still very competitive.
public:
private:

i think i'll apply to a bunch of schools, both reach and safety, so i can get done with this college stuff earlier.
i'm thinking about MIT/Caltech/UChig/Michigan.
any early action/ rolling admission schools i can add??

these are some info about me
SAT: 2170 (first time, so i'm sure i'll get above 2250 combined after second test) SAT 2s: 770, 800 (1 more to take)
GPA: 4.0 above average classes.

UChicago doesn't have engineering. It does have computer science, though. Carnegie Mellon is really good. Look also at Cornell, Rensselaer, Worchester Polytechnic, Lehigh, Rice, U Rochester, Case Western, Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, UIUC.

That's a good list from onemom for starters -- but be sure to find out from your parents how much they are willing to pay, and factor that into your search. (That's a whole 'nother ball game...) You should be running a college search on CollegeBoard.com for a solid list of schools. To find out which do EA and RD etc. you should visit their web sites once you have a list.
