Ok i am a high school junior right now and almost done with my second semester. I was wondering if my stats are enough to get into Davis:

OVerall i have about a 3.58, which by the end of thie year will probably about 3.6 or 3.7.
I only took 1 honors class in sophmore year, but i got a 3.75 gpa in the year. Right now im taking 3 AP classes and 1 honors.

ECS and volunteer work so far, i have done Key Club, Water Polo/and Swim, and Nature Center. I am planning on working and doing some more volunteer work during the summer.

Im planning on taking 3 AP classes again (Gov/Econ, English, and World History) senior year.

On the ACTs, i recieved a 25 and am planning to actually study hard for the next time to get at least 27 or 28.

I suggest just to be on the safe side, take a community college class over summer to bring your GPA up, and re-take your ACT's to get in the 27/28 range.

You'll probably get in, as in a good match school, but if you REALLY wanna go i'd try and boost your GPA and test scores. If you get to a 3.7-3.8 and a 27+ you'd be pretty much in as long as you follow up with your ECs

yea, i was actually thinking of taking a community college for my art and chemistry since i have yet to take them (so i can have more time during senior year classes and sports). If i take it during the summer, will it count for junior year and not senior?

and yes, i am in state, i am going to improve my ACT as well :P

ah thank you collegemom, although i dont know how it will help my gpa go up. ..i am allready enrolling in an art class since i have yet to take on, but what else should i take to help my gpa?

I think for the summer you can enroll in up to a total of two classes. Go to your local CC website and look for their program for high school students. The enrollment window for summer school will be soon. Take what you are interested in and make sure it is UC transferable. Another way to find out if the course will transfer is through assist.org. Finally spend plenty of time studying and preparing for the classes you choose since they will become a part of your official college transcript. You want to earn the best possible grades. Good luck :)
