Pretty much your average, middling school if the parents can afford to pay up. It seems that some state schools that are less selective will gladly accept a kid with decent stats. It depends on a lot on your SAT though. If you have a good SAT as well, you're two for three. That being said, a lot of admissions essays would be REALLY hard to write with no ECs to write about, and not a chance on scholarships.

I know people who had low B averages and didn't do anything but party in high school who are going to state schools (in New York) next year. I also know some AP students who are incredibly involved going to CC to save money. I guess it ultimately comes down to what you want, aside from the upper tier schools that are ultimately out of the question.

Oh, and some less-selective private schools, possibly, if parents can afford or if scholarships are strictly stats-based.

I have a friend who had virtually 0 ECs. He had average grades (3.3 is uw) and average SAT (I think ~1800) and went to a very competitive public (sends kids to all sorts of top schools). He said practiced violin at home (though not part of school or outside orchestras) and volunteered for the republican party senior year as his only real EC just to get community service hours to graduate. He was accepted to Penn State, Maryland (instate) and maybe a few other places.
