Good weekend for a visit?

We decided that parents weekend is too close to drop off to visit, and son coming home for Thanksgiving for one day does not make sense either. So we are considering visiting another weekend this fall, hopefully taking in a football game the same weekend. Any thoughts on a good weekend? Maybe when a particular festival is happening in or around Tuscaloosa?

Also, any football games happening on the east coast we should try to go to. Last year. I know UA played at Penn state.

Thanks for suggestions!

Thanks Cuttlefish… nothing is on the October or November calendar though. I thought maybe someone could tell me about an annual occurance that may be worthwhile planning around. I remember reading something about a chocolate festival…or something like that maybe?
