<p>Okay so I paid my enrollment deposit electronically and I was sent a confirmation of receipt from the University, and they gave me all of my info to get my uniquename google account set up, or whatever. So I did about an hour ago. I know it says to wait three hours, so I will wait a bit more, although the error does not seem to be with logging in just with accessing the google login page...?</p>
<p>But more importantly, is this required to register for housing? Because when I tried to access my housing application before it would not let me...</p>
<p>everytime I try to apply for housing, I get a page saying this:</p>
<p>"This web site is for newly admitted freshman matriculated to the University of Michigan applying for on-campus housing for Spring/Summer 2012 and/or the 2012-13 academic year.</p>
<p>Our system is preventing your access to the housing application at this time."</p>
<p>Is that for a reason…I am not even logged in an in the top right hand corner it has a Logout button…?</p>
<p>And to be specific, every time I push the “Go to Mail” button on the google.umich.edu page, or simply type in email.umich.edu, I get a page that says Google Apps- Server Error…
and it has been doing this for over 2 hours. I am just very eager to get this set up so I can move on to other stuff…but this is super frustrating. :(</p>
<p>If you just paid today for example you should get an email with in a week or so from housing, it does not come at the same time as the email set up one.</p>
<p>Jaysha, I believe the housing lottery doesn’t open up for new students for a while yet. Watch for an email telling you it’s time to fill out housing. It’s later in the process and historically has not been at the time of acceptance.</p>
<p>^housing email have already been sent. I filled mine on April 2nd. But yes, the email will come within a week or so. Just relax, you’ll get it. We’re all in the same boat if we file before May 8 so it’s not like you’re being punished, but after that it does become first come first serve though.</p>
