Google and Microsoft

Do these companies recruit many graduates from the school of computer science?

Why are you asking the same question a second day in a row with a new thread?

Someone already answered your question yesterday.

Because I would like to hear more opinions. I hope that is not a problem.

Yeah, I think so. My partner for a physics project was a senior CS major and he was just like yeah, I’m done with school (trying) b/c he already had a job lined up with Microsoft in Seattle. And I saw his email one day while we were working on our presentation and he was writing back several employer prospects denying their offers b/c he already had a job.

Then bump your original thread-- why start a new one asking the same question.

Be patient-- others will reply.

yea should have bumped, but besides that, to answer your question approximately 10% of the CS class gets hired by Google, and a bit larger amount my Microsoft. Of course, this is from undergrads who go straight to the workforce, There are also grad students that get hired im sure, i just don’t have the stats for that. I got these stats from a information session at SCS, which by the way is an amazing building.

This thread focused on a specific question. The other thread was more general thread - therefore I thought that creating a new thread with a more specific question would be appropriate. Please answer the question rather than tell me what I can and cannot do. Thank you.

Every year, SCS graduates self-report their post graduation results. The latest survey available is from the 2009 graduates. It looks like that year 2 students went to Google and 11 to Microsoft.

You can also keep an eye on the SCS career site - recruiters host informal meet-and-greet events throughout the year, not just at the job fairs. These are usually listed under Corporate Events. For example, Oracle had an info session in November.
