I just got a call from a Google representative, I was chosen as a Google Generation Scholarship recipient, and I will be attending Google CSSI

How many Google Generation Scholarships are given out every summer? And is it possible to only get CSSI and not the scholarship after applying through the application for both?
@fairyfantasy I think I saw in a previous yearās discussion that if you donāt get the scholarship youāre considered for CSSI with the regular applicants. I donāt know if thatās changed, but it seems reasonable that CSSI shouldnāt be dependent on the scholarship.

Iām a little curious what where your specs and the college you will be attending in the fall?
Does anyone know if yesterday was th eonly notification date for the scholarship or if they notify applicants either way?

@Screennname last year phone calls went out in waves, so hopefully theyāre still calling people
@lethallydia do you know if they call only those who were accepted or if they do it either way?
Are you notified if you are rejected?
@Screennname I think I read that phone call = scholarship, email = no scholarship. Iām not sure if regular CSSI follows the same conventions, but I would think that they would notify everyone either way.

Volunteer: Over 100 hours tutoring students in math, 50+ at an organization, 50+ at different events
I donāt have much exposure to computer science unfortunately because my high school does not offer computer science/programming classes, but Iāve been actively learning on my own for the past year. I think what helped were my essays (I poured my heart into them), and my enthusiasm and perseverance. .
I really didnāt think I would get accepted! Iām still really shocked, but Iām so excited! This came as a surprise because I was also accepted to BOAā's internship program, and I think I will have to give up on that to attend CSSI.
@ayanes13 congrats! And Carleton is a great school with a really good CS dept!

One of my friend applied for Generation Google scholarship and he says the portal still shows it is in review.
