This is for anyone who is applying to the Generation Google Scholarship and /or CSSI. Why’d you apply? What do you hope to accomplish? 
Does anyone know if this program is UBER competitive? I basically applied because I wanted to do GWC but I’m a senior so I can’t 
! Very limited coding experience here though but I’m immensely interested in UX design or just any design
It is. But apply anyway and see what happens. No use in obsessing over level of competitiveness.
@ancientfan what’s GWC? I don’t think coding experience has any effect. Like Courtney said apply anyway
I got a 1720 on the SAT, do you think I should still apply? I heard most of the people there get between 2000 and above
What level of competitive jw? And anyone know what they emphasize most on (as part of holistic review)? SAT/EC’s (resume)/experience/essays/minority?

I just finished my application. I hope I get the chance to attend or gain a scholarship. I’d imagine it is quite competitive, probably under 5% of get something, but that’s just a guess. The past winners have gone to some of the most selective colleges in the nation, including Stanford, MIT, Harvard, etc., so I’m assuming they’re very smart. One can only put in their best effort and hope for the best.
I applied for both CSSI and the generation Google scholarship this year and I really hope I get in! I’ve taken 4 years of computer science classes at my high school, mainly dealing with java. I want to attend CSSI to develop my knowledge on other languages and hopefully build connections with other people who have the same passion for programming as me. Does anyone know when they notify whether or not we got in?
Any ideas as to whether there will be an interview or not?

I got a call today and received the scholarship! I will be attending the Cambridge session in the summer. There is no interview.

I was notified this afternoon that I am a recipient. I will be attending the Cambridge session!

@gianthawk my qualifications were decent. I am Captain if Varsity Soccer+Cross Country, NHS president, JROTC staff member, JROTC drill team, JROTC fitness team captain. I have 4.38 GPA and am ranked #1 out of my class. However my scores werent all that great: 1690. I personally think it was my essays, i took my time on them to make sure they were good enough for them to over look my low scores.

What time do people start hearing back, and do they notify everyone or just the accepted ones?
