Gophers win!

It was great seeing the Gophers football team win their first game on Saturday. Even though they are not known for their football team, I am encouraging all the new freshman and the rest of the students to go to their games and support their team. Go gophers!

Another win today! I don’t expect it to last but this does make a nice change.

Go gophers!

Halfway to bowl eligibility!! They’ve already made great progress, but it would be a huge boost for the progam if they could manage 6 wins and possibly get a bowl invite. I hope Gray’s injury isn’t serious, but I actually think Shortell gives them a better overall offense. Go Gophers!!

OMG, the Gophers won again today! That makes 4 this year. My s was a gopher greeter for his freshman and sophomore years, but decided not to do it this year. And didn’t get tickets. I bet he is sorry! Keep it up Gophers!

They lost. Hopefully they will win the next one.

Gophers are Bowl Eligible!! D1 and her roomies were whooping it up when Kirkwood salted it away with the late touchdown. Started off slow…but the running game was strong all day and they took care of business like they needed to.

I think with OSU and PSU both being ineligible, the Gophers will almost certainly receive a bowl invite somewhere. It would be a stretch for them to win in Lincoln next week (although my Wolverines could certainly use their help to hang another loss on the Huskers) but a win against Sparty at home in the final game is a real possibility and could go a long way towards improving their bowl bid.

Coach Kill has done an outstanding job turning the Gophers around and bringing winning football back to the Twin Cities. IMO he deserves to be the Coach of the Year in the B1G, but I haven’t seen him or the Gophers getting a lot of love outside of the friendly confines of TCF Bank Stadium. Maybe pulling off a win somewhere in these last two games will help his cause. In any case, the future looks bright with a strong core of freshmen and sophomores…especially on offense. GO GOPHERS!!

I was cheering them on too and hope to do so in a bowl game. Go gophers!
