Got 1900 on my first SAT practice test -- Reasonable improvements?

Hi everyone,

I just took my first SAT practice test. (No preparations)

I took it on collegeboard.org

I got the following scores:

Reading: 540
Writing: 650 (Essay-12)
Math: 710

I plan on prepping an hour or two daily for the rest of summer and then on weekends when school starts. I plan on taking the test either in November or January. Other test dates don't work for me.

With this study schedule, what score does everyone think I can reach?

What would be the quickest way to improve my overall score?

Thank you everyone!

Defintiely practice problems, you’ll start to notice the same patterns that they put on every test. Look up the vocab you don’t know, and always review your answers do you make sure you understand why you got a question wrong

You should be fine, I started cold at a 1850 (probably would have done better but had no test taking “stamina”) and ended up with a 2250

Pardon me for ask but did you end up at an Ivy? Just wondering.

Seriously, a 2400 is possible for anybody who puts in effort. from the sound of it, you probably will put in a lot of practice. Improving to 2250-2400 sounds VERY feasible with the amount of time you are giving yourself. Good luck!

@CollegeDog123 Haha, will have to get back to you on that this fall (rising senior)

It depends.
You could probably get it up to the 2300’s if you tried.
