Got a 0 on an online class assignment because of a file error?

I take an online science class w/ a lab. What I usually do is finish my lab at school and then email it to myself to double check it at home before the due date.

Anyway, for one of my labs, we used Google Earth and I guess there was a problem here. I had finished the lab at school, saved it and when I opened it at home there was NOTHING in the file. So I re-did the entire lab and saved it again as a new file. Opened it again on my computer to double check if it was there. Luckily it was all there, so I decided to submit it.

They take a while to grade, so... it's been an entire month and I just got the grade back. I got a zero!!
I had emailed my prof he said that I'm an isolated case so he can't do anything for me (I'm assuming he just doesn't believe me).

I was wondering if there's anyone who has experienced something similar or what other proof I can offer or ideas?? I'm absolutely appalled that this happened as I had to do the lab *twice/i only to get a zero for some reason. And this is our last week of class before exams, so I really need to fix this grade before it's final!

So something similar happened with my D. Only she sent it to the Professor’s personal email id by mistake instead of through Blackboard. But she did send an email to Professor’s college id confirming the submission and sent the assignment as an attachment again. He did consider her case, got a verification done and eventually graded her paper with 10% late submission penalty. Which was definitely better than getting a zero.

This story will help you none but…

I accidently submitted homework for one class instead of for another. It didn’t get graded for a couple of months but when it did I got a 0 with a comment saying something like “not this homework assignment.” I found the correct assignment, emailed the GSI, the GSI graded it and there were no problems. Time/date stamp showed it had not been edited since before the due date.

Hopefully you have a time/date stamp on it that corresponds to the story.
