I think only the same exact course can replace the coursegrade. In other words, only 1A will replace 1A, because if it were otherwise, I guess the admin. people might see it as a cop-out? lol. Either way, I’m looking into the same thing and am gonna probably take 1A spring semester to replace my grade, as well.

EDIT: Although if it really WERE true that we could take 16A instead, it would be a miracle

I wish I got a C. I ended up with a D+. Does anyone know if I can still take Math 1B next semester or will I need to repeat 1A to get a higher grade to take 1B?

@Oblivion haha, I just commented on your thread! And I have been asking around about just going ahead to 1B. I’ve heard that it’s really not recommended at all, and that people need a very, very solid grip on 1A before they go on to 1B. ALSO, I’m not 100% sure, but I’m scared that if I go on to 1B, it’ll jeopardize my re-taking 1A in order to get a better grade (and replace it on my GPA)

Repeating courses to replace grades works only for the first 12 units of D/F/NP graded courses. If you repeat a course with a C- or higher grade, the original grade is what counts.
