Got accepted to cal poly slo

My son applied Oct. 31st at close to midnight and he was accepted on Feb 10th. I think there is a numbers formula that is assigned to every student based on GPA (somewhat based on course rigor), test scores and how you answered the 3 questions. Then they line them up from highest to lowest and admit a certain number per major depepnding on the amount of spaces available. Then they will slowly keep admitting students based on how many people are accepting. Just my thoughts. I hope you hear soon.

DS applied 11/9, accepted 2/11 biomed engineering.
Their “official” notification date is by 4/1 (according to College Board).

My son applied on 10/1/09, first thing in the morning. He applied to Mechanical Engineering, but his stats are low, so that may be why he hasn’t heard yet.

GPA: 3.57
ACT: 28 (Math 29, Science 30)

200+ hrs community service
no work experience.

I would love him to have SLO as an option, but I realize it is super competitive and his gpa is low. I hate waiting though! :)

is 3.5 gpa a Cal Poly gpa - my daughter is Cal poly GPA 3.9, 25ACT - 300hrs community service, ASB 2 yrs, V-ball 2 years Psych major has not heard yet. Admissions just told me no rhyme or reason for releasing info and by next two weeks admissions and rejections will be sent via protal…Chances for my daughter? good luck

What does no determination at this time mean?

Exactly what it sounds like…
No determination of admission at this time…

^^LOL…sorry. Just had to laugh.

Thank you Sherlock.

This is my first time checking the cal poly site. I just thought it might be a deferral.

I’m an Anthropology transfer student still waiting…I applied 11/26… has anyone else applied around the same time as me and received something??

I’m in, apparently. Not a bad start to the afternoon :D

I applied 10/30 and I still haven’t heard back yet…:frowning:
My stats: GPA (weighted)- 4.1; SAT-1930; SATII-740, 800; moderate e.c’s.
My major is Civil Engineering. Many of my friends have gotten in already. When I check mycalpoly, it only says that “no decision has been made at this time”. Is this a sign that I won’t get accepted?

Found out today that I got into Graphic Communications. =)

1220 SAT, 3.5 GPA, full EC and some work experience. (So there’s hope for all so-so students such as myself, I suppose)

All these acceptances are making me feel pretty good about chances…
hmmm…I wish they took midyear grades into account.

good luck socalscott.
still waiting, and i hope they do look at midyear grades, i just got a 4.33 -_-

Woah nice! Unfortunatley, they don’t. haha

lol yeah. i know… but you never know. they might ask for your transcript ^^

I applied 10/20. EECS

After looking through some threads I believe “most” not all impacted majors have been delayed. I think the really strong applicants for the impacted majors have gotten in. But from what I see, a lot of engineering majors have not heard from them yet.

Judging by past experience watching SLO admissions, if you’re an incoming freshman and still waiting on your decision in March then you probably need to be making peace with your Plan B.

you make me sad uclamommabear =(

Oh naixn92, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean now. Now is just fine waiting. I’m sure they’re still releasing acceptances in waves at this point. It’s just that every year there end up being freshman posting angry and upset comments in mid to late March about SLO not giving them an admit notice and how are they going to get housing, but at that point they should instead be reading the writing on the wall and becoming happy with their 2nd choice school.
