Got grades from university where I take classes; they are awful.

I just got my grades from the university where i take classes, and my grades are awful.

Calc I: B-
Chem I: C
Econ: B
Thats a gpa of a 2.556. So awful.

Im applying to top colleges
Northwestern
Wash U
Brown
Cornell
Rice
UMich
UNC
UVA

Is there anything I can do, should I talk to anyone? Is there any hope?

Apply to some safety schools. If school at your current school is hard, it’s only gonna get harder at those places

Hey… It’s not the end of the world. Just work hard now. One of my friends said that once she entered college, it was much better because she got bad grades in high school. What I mean is, the kids who get good grades in high school (AP, college classes, etcc…) get it harder in college. I mean, there might be some kids who dont experience this, but this should be a motivator.

Cheer up. I got the same thing as you, except I got my first two C’s in AP Calc and AP Lit. in my academic career.

It “WAS” horrible. I don’t worry much about it no more because the past is past.

About your applications… Schools understand that there can be a rough semester and such. I know a kid at my school who went to harvard with a couple C’s and D’s on his transcript. I bet he made it up with his EC’s (he was really involved, but he was a HUGE slacker).

You’re challenging yourself. Don’t give up. But, yes, apply to a sure bet safety college while keeping your other applications active.

Don’t worry, everything will be fine. Just stay positive!!!

As others have said, don’t worry and do better next time. Just don’t keep saying “I’ll do better next time.”

But regarding your list… Where are your safeties? o.O…

Yeah, My safeties are the University of Minnesota, and the University of Wisconsin Madison. But I really hope i dont have to go there.
I only got a C cus I had the flu during the final, and there was no other day i could have done it and i didnt want an incomplete on my transcript.
So I took it with a high fever, chills, and everything.
Should I tell colleges that? How would they respond?

I wouldn’t tell them about those circumstances–none of the grades are particularly stellar, and you don’t want to sound like you’re making up excuses.

So you’re going to have to add some less competitive schools to your list. If you’re deadset against attending your safeties, they’re not true safeties! Research schools with higher admit rates and lower average high schol GPAs that you are interested in attending.
