I applied CAS but didn't expect to even get in. Happy that I got in LSP, even though I'm going to the University of Florida ^.^

Nonsense, there are probably Caucasians with your stats or lower who got in (may be even into CAS, haha). You may have had a slight hook an an URM, but there are many URMs who also have not gotten into NYU, period. I see that your GPA, composite ACT (particularly Reading and English), SAT Reading are strong, as well as the rigor of your classes and nice ECs. This is without reading your essay/ short answers and recs.

Don’t let the poster above undercut some solid work on your part.

Congrats for getting in with some obvious hard work and talent on your part.

@evolving, thank you so much. That definitely helped a bit because I was wondering if maybe I was accepted only because of my race, which would be a bit of a downer.

relatively low??! Dang, my grades/scores are lower than that and I thought I at least had a chance. well congrats on getting in!! (but really, those scores aren’t low! your GPA and ACT are great!)

Totally honest… i am so shocked that you didn’t get into CAS… What the heck your ACT score is pretty damn good, SAT is alright, decent activities, AP classes, URM status… I’m really confused

@tb0mb93, If NYU was my first choice, I’d care more. Haha. I’m staying in state since it’s so much cheaper, but getting in to NYU, even LSP, was nice.

FWIW, my scores aren’t that good in the College Confidential world…thanks for having faith, though!

@lorrainedelis, they look at so much more than just grades and test scores; you still have a chance And LSP is rolling through the end of March so you still have time to be admitted that way as well. Good luck!
