Please help! I'm confused as hell deciding where to go. I am transferring from De Anza College if anyone is curious. I am a Poli Sci major at UCD, Poli Sci-Int Relations at UCSD and UCI. I'm from the south bay area if that helps? I plan on going to the UCSD transfer admit day.

visiting the campuses is exactly what you need to do, you’re on the right track. usually one campus will just feel right.

also, the internet is your friend.

either D or SD.
D because its so damn awesome. SD because I think I read somewhere that it has an excellent poli sci program

internet is deffs your friend

if it was me.

Davis
San Diego
Irvine

if you want norcal - davis, if you want LA, irvine. from what ive gathered they virtually are about the same.

whats with the poly sci majors?

The perk of Davis for Political Science would definitely be its proximity to the capital, thus many high quality internship options.
Other things to consider – have you looked into how many courses you would need to take at SD, Irvine or Davis to graduate and if you will be able to graduate in two years from each school? What about the quality of the programs at each school? Are they pretty much similar? How important is it to live close to home for you? (If you have never lived on your own yet, do not underestimate how important it might be to live close to home). Sorry for the abundance of questions but no answers!

I’d say make a list of pros and cons and decide from there. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful, if I am accepted off of the waitlist I will be in the same situation as you are in.

Go to UCSD. UCD is pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

That’s so not true. XD Davis is right by Sac UCSD is pretty much in the middle of nowhere o_O

^exactly

if you dont stay in norcal or remotely close to the valley please dont speak on davis.

davis is close to sac - auburn - roseville - and its actually quite easy to get to the bay from Davis.

I’m from NorCal. I lived in Dixon for a year, which is right by Davis, so I am pretty familiar with the area. I will more than likely be going to Davis, even if I am accepted off of the waitlist to SD.

But, I would also say Davis is in the middle of nowhere. Yes, it is near a lot of little cities, but Auburn, Roseville, and Dixon are not bastions of culture. It is “close” to Sac, but it is still about 20 mins away. Also, although it is “easy” to get to the bay from Davis, Davis is about an hour away from the bay. With that said, the city of Davis itself is awesome!
