Got my roomate packet...

i suggest you get there early on move-in day and lay claim to the window side. The person with the door side generally doesnt get the same sense of privacy and space. The downside to the window is that it's drafty in the winter when youre trying to sleep and if you face east, it's hard to sleep in if youre a light sleeper due to the sun. And keep in mind the walls arent insulated, so if youre making fun of your neighbor keep it down

You cannot really steal an AC from McBride/Mather. You will see. Also, doing so would get you a beat down from McBride.

i was just joking, i'll definitely bring my own. for any upperclassmen... is it true that mcbride is party central every year? what is living in lewis and norton like? are there any downsides to having a single? thanks.

the obvious downside to having a single is that you wont have a roommate (yeah, wise words!) i think its fun to have a roommate; mine became one of my closest friends.
in my opinion, no building is really party central at kenyon except perhaps the south side of campus because of division housing being there. i personally feel lewis and norton are the best freshman dorms. the rooms are big, and you guys will be in the freshman quad. its a great opportunity to meet and hang out with fellow freshman.

thanks! yea, i'm a little apprehensive about going at it alone, you know, without a roommate, but i take comfort in the fact that there seem to be a lot of singles in norton (where i'm staying). maybe we'll bond.. lol. i think i have the second to largest single room too (029), which is pretty exciting. i'm curious - what are you majoring in?

sent you a PM.

I'm sure I'll like Mather, I just hope that it's not true that you don't get to know people very well because you're in a mixed dorm. Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

not true. its all the same, whether single-sex or mixed. from what i know, doesnt make a difference.

I wasn't referring to the gender-mix, I meant the mix of younger and older students.

oh ok, srry abt that.
anyways, freshmen live in the same floor...usually the first floor. also, i think it's even better coz u get to meet upperclassmen with ease as well.

haha no worries... I wasn't very specific. thanks for eliminating my doubts!
