So I got my roomate and housing information (I'm in Lewis), but I was expecting to get some information on email and such. Does anyone know when this will come? I would really like to get on Facebook and get to see some of my future classmates!

I'm in Gund, double room . . . I'm pretty sure you can already register for an email http://lbis.kenyon.edu/email/emailtips/emailprivacy.htm, you have to download Mozilla or configure your email for Securemail. I'm not sure though. I haven't actually tried anything because I'm waiting for my laptop before I set up things. Also, they gave you your student ID on the room assignment sheet, so I figure that would be what you would need the most, if anything, to register for email.

if youre in gund make sure you get a carpet and a fan. it can get hot as hell in there in September and the linoluem tends to get cold fast in the winter. with the email, i think they'll send you guys a form that has a premade password for you. until then i dont think you can access webmail. if you want i believe the password can be changed easily when you get on campus.

I'm in Mather, room #120. my roommate is from new joisey. you guys should check out the myspace group for kenyon 2010...that's where all the action is. everyone over there is going crazy over roommate info.

mcbride and mather are the only dorms freshmen live in that have AC. also when you guys get your kenyon emails you should join up at studentuniverse.com it can save you anywhere from a hundred to a couple hundred dollars on airfares

yea me too, actually. i'm not sure where i'll be living yet, but we can always steal AC's from mather and mcbride. i heard it's been done... lol. the Kenyon 2010 myspace group really is a great way to meet people. i definitely recommend you guys join.

I'm sure there's such a thing as a freestanding air conditioner...kind of like a window unit...except not for the window. what I mean is that you could probably buy something to help with the heat those first few months at walmart or target...etc.

I'm really curious about how Gund rooms are laid out. Does anybody know where the divider is? Does it split the room so that only one person views the window? How long is it?

Yep, only one person gets the window, but the wall is only ~5 feet high so the light comes to the rest of the room. It goes the whole width of the room except about 3-4 feet to let you walk through to the back half.
