Hahaha what the hel? That rule exists? I had multiple guests this year and I never filled out any forms. That goes for everyone else I know who had guests visit too. Even ones of the opposite sex... haha.

Rules about guests were never enforced, except on dillo day - and I think that was only in Bobb....

umm .... during reading and finals week, i slept in my bf's room every night (my room was so freaking hot, ugh 4th floor) and no one cares.

ok thanks, my bf goes to another college tho, so i thot it mite be a problem

nope...my roomie had a bf from home and he came and stayed several times...no problem

cool! thanks

When will we find out who our roomies are?

not until the last week of July or first week of August...

oh that sucks. Well Im excited to find out.

Yeah, same time you get your housing assignment. Their name will be on the contract.

oh that sucks... that late? other people already know where they'll be living :( boo hehe

Yeah, I think we found out the last week of July last year.

how is living down south?? i put willard, allison, and hinman as my choices...i wanted to be close to evanston, but I am kinda worried about the walk up north all the time and i heard down south is nowhere near as fun as up north...any opinions?

north is definitely a much different experience than south....you're surrounded by frat houses and therefore frat parties, bobb-mc is party central, and all the athletes and kids in sciences live up north....south, though closer to evanston isn't as much of a party atmosphere, but it is closer to many of the off-campus party houses...either way, you can make the best of your living situation....i lived in mcculloch this year and it was amazing, despite being a voice major and having to hike to MAB every day....the campus is only about a mile from north to south, so it's not that bad, especially if you've got somebody to talk to...I personally feel that you can make it work either way, but living north your freshman year is an amazing experience

I guess the experiences are different, but I would NOT say different levels of fun. The walk north is NOWHERE near as bad as people say, this from someone who lived in the dorm furthest from north (Willard) who walked up there almost every day. Being that close to Evanston is a bigger benefit than you'd think, especially when you need to go to CVS, get a haircut, or just want to go out to dinner. And personally, I'd rather go up north on the weekends to party, kind of like a trip, and then come home afterwards to hangout/sleep than be constantly surrounded by the parties. Plus, south has plenty of action, it's not like it's dead.

I could see myself being happy on either north or south campus and I think the difference is exaggerated too much to incoming students (I felt the same way going in freshman year).

I agree that they aren't THAT different, but people who live on north campus seem to think that south campus is where fun goes to die...haha....I lived north this year, tho and I'm living south next year....I just feel like north freshman year is very good because you're right there for parties, and if a party is awkward you don't have to walk all the way back south...and living north, you aren't as likely to stop at taco bell, einstein's, or bk and waste money

does anyone know if the beds in elder come already bunked?

I am pretty sure all the doubles in the dorms come with beds bunked, but plenty debunk them.

bluehunnydew - it really depends on whether the ppl before you bunked their beds or not lol because the res people are probably too lazy to debunk them if they are. it's easy to debunk them, and half do, half don't.
