got rejected by UCLA..

I applied UCLA for this fall(transfer), I did not plan to transfer there, but it 's just one more option for me. So this news doesn't disappoint me that much. However, I do feel curious about the reason why I got rejected by UCLA.

I maintain a 4.00GPA at my current community college and had many awards and honors( like competitions' metal, PTK membership......etc.). I cannot work because of F1 Visa. I don't have volunteer experience..
I have at least 60 credit hours for transfer.
Then why they rejected me?? What kind of student do they want? Also, in my essay, I even pointed out which research group I want to apply. I also briefly talked about what that group is working on.

whats your major?

ericxxd, it’s chemistry.

I think it is due to you are international student. Last year, UCLA admitted 108 out of 322 Chemistry applicants with average GPA of 3.62, so Chemistry is not impacted major.

I just checked the admission decision result of UCB, I got rejected too! I m in Georgia, I guess this might be a reason??
I m not disappointed, I got admitted by UIUC, which is a good news to me because I literally plan to transfer to there. I m still waiting from Emory and UWM.
