Got rejected from Chapman, should i appeal my decision?

I got rejected from Chapman University, I had a low SAT score and average grades
I have legacy at Chapman and i think i got rejected because of my choice of major ( Creative Producing )
So should i appeal my decision with Business as my major?

Do you believe they take students in business with low SAT scores and average grades? That would seem the reason you were rejected not the major…Appealing works only rarely, and I would never encourage mine to appeal unless it seemed to be a true error on the school’s part or there is new information to present. Neither of this is the case here. If they looked at another major choice for you they would have to do it for everyone. No school does that, everyone gambles when they select their major. I think moving on is the best, but if you need to do it for whatever reason you can try.

@vcho12 Sorry to hear about your rejection. If I were you, email your admissions councilor and ask them about which options you have. If I had to guess, I doubt you could reapply, but it’s worth a shot. You can also transfer another year.

How did you find out you were rejected? My portal says “decision reached” and i haven’t heard anything from the school.

I know this comes late but probably yes - low scores and average grades will hurt.

But also recognize Creative Producing only takes a handful of students. The year my D was accepted they were only taking 25. That’s a pretty small number regardless of stats.
