Got written up.. does that hurt my chances?

I’m a first year undergrad, and I got written up for an alcohol violation.

How do I know whether it has to be reported? I think my school has a policy where they don’t keep the record past x years and I plan to apply to the MBA program after this period. Does that mean it wouldn’t have to be reported at all?

If it is reported, how much would it hurt my chances at one of the better MBA programs?

Thanks…

You’ve got a long time until you should even consider applying for MBA programs. The average age of most MBA students is around 28-29. That’s at least 10 years away assuming you’re 18 or 19. The best way you can prepare is knuckle down and study hard, get good grades, and look for internships or summer employment in businesses that interest you and see what the MBAs in those businesses are doing. You may end up concluding that you don’t need an MBA to get where you want to go.
