gotten nothing at all from JHU?

I also had a Y for the fin aid, i faxed the forms to them on thu.

Income is untaxed where i reside.. so what can i send in place of the tax forms? ( cuz i still have a N for that)

i have Y under the "completed" column for international student fin aid application and the parent tax form. but then under the "waived" column, there are two N's. what's waived mean? anyone know?

If the form is "waived", then the applicant doesnt need to send in that particular form.

oh ok, gotcha. thanks

yay! I have Y too. But I think the status column is supposed to say something, but mine's blank. They have given a list on the 'new user' page of the website. But i guess that column will be activated only after we are admitted.

And one more thing. Is it normal for finaid offices at all colleges to start calculating each applicant's need beforehand irrespective of whether he/she has been admitted or not? Isn't it only extra work for the finaid office when they know that so many of the students for whom they are taking the effort to calculate need are going to be rejected? This is what is making me think that there is more to this letter than meets the eye. Notice in the last line how they say "we'll change your ISIS ID to a JHED ID if you decide to enroll." Enroll? like have we been admitted already?

rm1987- u had to send statements from your parents emloyer or write a letter explaining that incomes are not taxed.......

employer's statement as in a salary certificate? I sent all the stuff by mail 2 months back and JHU seems to have missplaced the whole package!

btw bruno.. yeah, i didnt notice they had written "if u decide to enroll"!

anywayz.. this is just an online tracking system... i dont think it has anything to do with the admission process... its like how most other univs. allow applicants to track the status of their application.

anyone who didnt get an ISIS ID as yet?

rm1987- I think u should better call them and try explainig them your situation. You dont want to be in a situation that you didnt receive aid cause your app for aid was incomplete.

balac- the ISIS ID is a unique alphanumeric identification code assigned to each applicant... ie. it is the ID u use to login into ur JHU account.

yeh i know, thats why i edited my post

staticsoliloquy didn't get the letter. He/she said so in another JHU discussion board.

ya what's going on...should i call them?

static- did u apply for fin aid? maybe theyre sending these stuff out only to ppl applying for aid..

Give them a call, last year they mixed up my SS#.

From the website...

"The financial aid office assigns every student a status. This value is used to track the progression of your file from application to disbursement. Definitions appear below:

* APPLICANT - A record exists for you in the financial aid system; however you did not express an interest in applying for financial aid "

so even if you didn't apply for fin aid, the applicant should still be getting their code.

ya i did apply for financial aid.

they updated their website and my docs are there !! woohoo!!

ok maybe im just being stupid but how do you check your application status online?

you can only check your fin aid app online. you should have received an id number by e-mail
