More diversity at Goucher is a laudable goal given the relative homogeneity of the place. That said, I take issue with admitting applicants based on a two minute video alone. The message you’re sending these students, and to the school community, is you’re primarily admitting them based on what they look like, though obviously creativity and charisma matter as well. It would be better to have the option of adding a video to the standard application so you at least maintain the appearance that academic achievement also matters.
