Government or Political Science?

What is the major actually called at Harvard? I keep reading both. Thanks.

It's not my prospective major or anything, so I might be wrong, but Harvard has a Political Science concentration (like most major schools). Government is different, and I know it's offered by Georgetown, but I do not believe it is a conventional major.

Harvard calls its poli sci department the Government Dept.

corranged is slightly mistaken.
Harvard does not have a department or concentration called Political Science. It is called Government. Within the Government concentration, there are four subfields from which concentrators are required to take at least one half-course in each. These are Political Theory, Comparative Government, American Government, and International Relations.

More info in the student handbook:

Hope that helps!

I suppose it is called Government because the department as a whole is a bit broader than just PoliSci.

Oh. Weird.

Said I'd be wrong. lol
