Hello, thank you once again for being here, CC!
I am a North Carolina resident and rising junior who has anticipated that time of year for Gov School nominations. Honestly I’m perplexed by the way my school does it- you tell them you want a nomination I believe- and it seems counterintuitive but I suppose it makes sense. Anyways I can probably figure that out but if anyone can truly define nomination for me that would be great.
My more pressing question is about experiences at gov school I’ve heard some programs are better than others, is that true? I’m also wondering about the selectivity of the program as it really seems to depend on the discipline (why would French nominations be unlimited otherwise?). I know it is touted as a selective program but given the number of people at my school who are going, it doesn’t seem quite like getting into a T20, just still pretty hard. Also, most students didn’t have the motivation or desire to dedicate to the application, and those who did were rewarded. I’m just confused on a lot as it’s kept in the relative dark but if anyone has anecdotes or tips that would be great! Thank you all!
