GPA 3.0 (9-12) any possibility? (Music)

I'm a senior in High School right now,
and I have been sick for a year, more mental disease.
Due to this, I have failed most of my courses in my junior year, and transferred to other school. My old school was an art school which ended around 5, and my current school is a independent program which offers a research based courses.
Because of new medications,I have been doing well this year and I'm trying to apply for these schools. My intended major is music (piano), and I wonder if I should try to apply or not. My grades will go up since I will make up the classes in the spring.
I will be explaining in my essays, but I am very frustrated with myself.
I'm posting this on many other forums. Sorry about that!

CMU does admissions based on musical ability first and then picks from that pool based on academics. As long as you explain your circumstances, it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I got into CFA's design school with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.9, and I didn't have any mental issues to fall back on, though I did have an upward trend. Yeah, CFA is waaay more about your abilities for your chosen field than things like grades. If they see an upward trend and an explanation for your poor grades (and you have a legtimate one), then you should be fine.

However, piano is a hard major to get into just because it's so saturated, so practice lots.
