Hi all,

Just finished my first year (I'm an undergrad EE). Basically, I screwed up Winter quarter, so my GPA is hurting. URSA shows a 3.265. A lot of jobs/internships require a 3.3 GPA. Do I qualify? Thanks.

It’s worth a try. Most engineering companies care more about what you can do than what your grades are anyway. Also, your GPA at least rounds up to 3.3, so it might work out. Two possible concerns:

Companies usually choose 2nd and 3rd year EE majors over first years.

The positions are usually very competitive, so hopefully you have something that sets you apart.

For sure man, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I got a few offers from IT places (I’m kinda a computer nerd) and decided on an Engineering/IT job. Just wondering about the GPA rounding for next year, don’t want to “lie” on my apps or anything.

I don’t think rounding to the nearest decimal place is dishonest, and I don’t think the company would care enough about the difference to really complain.
