all MetalMeatwad wants is some encouragements and some pity…

reading several times about regretting what he has done in 8th grade and 9th grade, there’s nothing else to because that past is the past.

your just waiting for someone to pity you and say “best of luck and get a A on your classes”

well, yes my advice for you is to study hard, and use up all your free time and study to get A’s in all those classes. Meanwhile, it’s senior year… yes you have reached your goal of getting a high unweighted ans weighed GPA, but guess what? REJECTED from college. why?? I’m sure your extra circulars, and SAT scores will result you into rejection.

GPA is NOT the main factor into getting to top schools. everything is taken into consideration while your application is binging reviewed. yes GPA is a important factor, but SAT, EC’s and recommendations are important factors too…

Those 3 courses won’t matter as much once your junior and senior classes are taken into account. I’d be more concerned about your writing style than your grades.

My EC’s are fine so far loads of volunteering at hospitals and museums. I’ve been on the Varsity Tennis Team now for 2 years. (And I got two letters and pins, yet I have no idea what they mean?) I’m in clubs, and honor clubs. Planning to be an Officer in 5 Clubs next year including Treasurer for Student Gov and Vice President and President for Mu Alpha Theta, Science Honors Club, Spanish Honors Society, and NHS. I think I’m doing a Summer Program this leadership program at NW this summer, but not sure. I even got an ok award provided a my school. Finally, if I choose eithe AP Bio or AP Chem I’ll tutor the honors and reg kids next year since Science is my fvortie subject. Duh… I’m studying for the SAT’s now and this summer… Yes, they told us high school credit in 8th, but it’s definately calculated into my GPA I made sure.

Jew? Why???
I was just worried about my GPA and bringing and staying in the 3.8’s because I was worried with my schedule, and wondering if I should change things before it’s to late to help my GPA. I really don’t want to end up in the 3.6’s YIKES. Right now (actually a couple weeks) I will have a 3.78 UW which is rounded to a 3.8 UW in a way… Don’t want to go down, only up!

… They will take my high school GPA and delete my high school credit courses from 8th grade? I doubt it, since it was 2 high school courses. They will definately look at it! But no worries I’m calm, I think I can pull it off next year,

they will simply examine your GPA without taking into account the grades from outside of high school. they have ways of doing that. you can also have your counselor add something into your recommendation.

given your courseload and likely scores, there will be really no difference between a 3.7 and a 3.8.

your school sucks for dropping your grade to a B for getting a C on the exam. in my school, you have to get a D

No, a 3.6 isn’t YIKES overall. I just want to go to UPENN (Or NW) really bad, and according to the threads it’s not good to have a 3.6. So my goal of 3.85 by end of Junior Year is what I’m working for. Maybe my 11 Alumni will help a lot if I apply ED? Where did you find colleges take out 8th grade high school credit courses? Does UPENN, Northwestern, Brown, Cornell do this? If so, LINK?

i’d agree that 3.6 is on the low end for those kinds of schools, but you made it sound like it would take a failure to only pull that sort of GPA. i know people who would kill for that GPA.

now seriously consider, who is going to try to evaluate you on grades you got in 8th grade? what idiots would do that?

‘gee, this kid looks good, but look what he got in algebra 1. a B? im sorry, but [insert school name here] just has higher standards than that’

or

‘gee, this application looks good, but look at the kid who got an A in a class 5 years ago. gee, kid, better luck next time’

taking a look at your transcript (which colleges do), they will see that you have gotten almost all As throughout your HS career. this will bode well for you.

and don’t expect legacy to help too much unless your family has its name on a building.

I thought this topic was done with lol. I’m not whining I was just asking for advise. Is retaking possible, and other sorts? And any change of schedule I should do? I was just explaining the situation why.
