Obviously, there is a correlation between GPA and employment/salaries. The best engineers get high GPAs, and the best engineers also get the best jobs. Is there a direct, causal link between GPA and employment/salaries?

Is getting a job in engineering all about the GPA?

Do better GPAs get paid higher salaries? Do the highest paid jobs go to the people who have the highest GPA?

Does GPA matter much more than experience (e.g., internships)? Does GPA matter much more than the school you graduated from (e.g., bad state school 3.5 > MIT 3.0)?

Is it possible to get interviews with a GPA below 3.0? Will employers give you a higher than normal starting salary if you had a high GPA in college?

Please answer if you have experience working or hiring in engineering. Thanks!
