I currently will end my sophomore year with a 2.9 weighted GPA. Is this bad GPA. I really messed up my freshman math/science and sophomore science. I believe those are the classes that brought me down. What gpa do you think is possible by the end of junior year if I get A’s and B’s only. Also these are my courses I will be taking junior year:
Ap English language
Geometry honors
AP Spanish language
U.s history honors
Physics
Web desg 3
Web desg 3 lab.
Thank you
It’s definitely leaning towards bad…
@fl0984 What is your unweighted GPA?
2.7 I’m ending my sophomore year.
Can I get that 2.7 by 3.2 end of senior year?
A 3.2 unweighted is more or less the average gpa the decent schools. Good test scores (above 1500) would improve your chances. If you work hard, an increase of about .3 is not unattainable. You can build from there. Good luck!
Thank you! I am just really scared I wont get accepted to colleges. I really want to have the best future. Hopefully I can bring it up.
You’re fine. There are way more people that have worse GPAs. Just try your hardest. Upward trends are nice to see.
Especially with more weighted classes in your last two years than in your first two years (presumably), an increase is not out of reach! Remember that, no matter what, the better the grades you earn moving forward, the higher your GPA will end up. Start working to improve right away; there’s nothing you can do about the past, and you already know what to do to improve, so stop worrying! You’ll find out if/when colleges accept you when they do, and you know how to do all you can to improve your chances, so do it.
