I'm a sophomore in HS and we got report cards last week. My gpa is a 2.7 unweighted for this year so far and a 3.0 unweighted cumulative

I think thats terrible.

Honestly, I slacked off MAJORLY last year. I don't know why i wasnt focused on getting good grades, I just figured that I'll be ok. Wasnt even thinking about future and did minimal. I got a bunch of c's (no D's thankfully)

This year i have 2 C's, 1 A, and 3 B's

I am taking an AP world history class and thats taking a lot of my time. I am trying my best though and actually working hard this year.

So is there a chance to still bring my gpa up maybe to a 3.7+ in like the years I have left of HS?

So in order to get a 3.7+, I would need to get straight A’s from now on AND take extra classes over the summer online? How would the online classes help me? I’m a little confused

To simplify this, I’m going to pretend you’ve gotten a B every quarter in every class you’ve ever taken and that you have 10 credits so far (8 credits per year, times 1.25 years) because taking 8 one-credit courses per year is standard. That would also result in a 3.0 unweighted cumulative GPA after 1.25 years.

If you take eight one-credit courses every year for the rest of high school and get straight As every quarter, you’ll end up with an unweighted cumulative GPA of

[3(10)+4(22) / 32] = 3.6875

at the end of your senior year.

At the end of your junior year, your UW cumulative GPA would be

Yeah this is my FIRST quarter grade. And only semester grades go into transcripts. So do i stikl have a chance to bring the gpa up? Like maybe to a 3.7+?
