GPA conversion

Hello,

I'm from Australia and i need some help trying to determine GPA scores. My univerisity uses the honours system of H1, H2A, H2B... (first class honours, second class honours, etc). Grades are given in percentages.

What would 50 - 65 (Pass) , 65 - 70 (H3), 70 - 75 (H2B), 75 - 80 (H2A) and > 80 (H1A) correspond to in terms of GPA?

Thanks

I knwo that the dutch system translates like this:

we get absolute scores out of ten:

1-5,5 =F
5,5-6,9=D
7.0-7,9=C
8.0-8.9=B
9.0-9.9=A
10=A+

at least that's what i was told..perhaps you'll be able to read the percentileson this ten scale as well?

In my school

they use percentages:

75% and above - A - Excellent
70 - 75 - B - Very Good
etc

How do percentile scores work? is it like, you get 75% if 75% of the class scored lower than you did/ or do you get 75% if you get 75% correct?

in holland if you get 75% correct, that gives you mark 7,5, whihc gives you a C...

u get 75% right and nobody scores above you...then A..

essentially curving.

ah ok...they don't do that in holland....75% correct and no one better than you is still a 7,5.

in exam though there is a standard that the average student should score approximately 7 for everything, so if the average mark of a test is for instance a 5,8 they will change the formula that calculates your score a bit...

bloody complicated. in uni it's like i first explained, 60% right is a 6 thus a D no matter whether anyone scores higher than you do.
