GPA Conversions: 3.0 Scale to 4.0 Scale

Hey Everyone I have a quick question I am not sure if anyone knows but I was looking at a copy of my transcript and noticed that my school does not work on a 4.0 grading scale rather a 3.0 grading scale (+/-).

I have a 3.68 on a 3.0 grading scale I am not sure if converting this to a 4.0 scale would make this lower or not.

I have no idea if this will benefit for hinder me when I start to apply for graduate schools. If anyone knows where I can find a conversion calculator or anything regarding please let me know.

Thanks!

I dont know how this conversions work but if done linearly then it'd be a 4.90 on a 4.0 scale.

Huh.. are you sure you're on a 3.0 scale? How did you get so far above it..

Just as long as you aren't trying to major in sci/math, you'll be fine.

^lol, yeah i don't really understand.

It would increase on the 4.0 scale. Just do a simple proportion...(3.68 divided by 3) multipled by (x over 4) so you do 3.68 multiplied by 4 which is 14.72 and then divide it by 3 which makes it = 4.90666666
