GPA increase?

To make a long story short, I dropped my English class (8th period) and instead, I'm am taking english 101 at Drexel U.

My english class was NOT a weighted class ( A = 5, B= 4, etc, etc). So does this mean that my gpa will be higher (assuming i get all A's, which I will)?

do most schools calculate gpa by the number of quality points (A=4, etc), by the number of classes?

right not i have 4 weighted classes and 2 unweighted (electives). Rather than 4 weighted and 3 unweighted. My basic question is this: will my gpa be higher b/c i dropped the unweighted class?

the reason i want to know is b/c i am tied for first with someone, but i want to know if not having that unweighted class will widen the gpa gap b/w us so that my rank can be unshared.....(yes, i know...i am very selfish)

thanx in advance.

Yes, it will be higher, but the electives might not count when colleges calculate your GPA.

It's all on how your school calculates gpa.

Most likely it will be higher. (Imagine you get all A's. (5+5+5+5+4+4)/6 = 4.67. (5+5+5+5+4+4+4)/7 = 4.57).

^okay, that's exactly how i calculated it......but i wanted to make sure...thanx Johnson.
