Gpa

god this GPA calculation is so annoying. my school has some subjects that don't have a level next to it for example they don't have CP or honors. calculating my weighted gpa is easy but for my unweighted I is really confusing and difficult.
Do I include the subjects that don't have a level next to it?
and how do I calculate my unweighted GPA.
I asked my guidance counselor about it and she told me that an A in a class is a 4 and a B is 3 and so on so forth. but if that's the case then what about A+, A-, B+, B-. what do they account for?

also if I use the technique above then my GPA is significantly lower than my weighted GPA. this makes my profile look bad. Can we only send in 1 gpa to colleges? and do they convert your weighted to the unweighted.
PS- I take 2 AP and all the rest Honors classes

No, as long as your school does unweighted GPAs you have to send it. Ask your school how they address +s and -s, usually it is something like an A- is a 3.5. For the sake of right now assume an A+, A and A- are all a 4 and so one for Bs and Cs…
Yes you include subjects that don’t have a level, that is the point of unweighted. Weighted takes into account rigor, unweighted looks at your grades without factoring in things like AP…

Thanks a lot. So you mean I can include my grade in gym and music because they don’t have a level?

Yes, include your grade in electives. Know that most colleges will recalculate your unweighted GPA without those classes though.

Hahah that like a huge disadvantage. Ok my school is one if the most difficult school in Connecticut. This it is really difficult getting A’s in AP classes. Wow. This is gonna reduce my college chances by a lot

Schools will consider class rank (which may help you), but if your GPA is extremely low for a school it won’t make too much of a difference.

Haha well the worst part is that our school doesn’t have class ranks. Lol so I Mean I don’t know what to do

I’m pretty sure colleges calculate UW GPA like this

[How to Convert Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>How to Convert (Calculate) Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale – BigFuture)

A is 4, B is 3, C is 2, etc. but if you have a +/- it adds or subtracts .3 respectively.
