in my school an A=90-100 and B=80-89, etc. My frist question is, do straight A's = a 4.0 gpa? or is it more like a combine the averages and if it's a 90 or above it equals a 4.0?(example:if grades were 100 and 80, the average is 90 which equals A, but technically it would be shown as an A and a B on the report card meaning 4.0 + 3.5(dunno wat the point value is for a b) = about 3.7ish. Sorry if this question is confusing, but if you can help me out it would be appreciated.

At my school, you get 4 points for an A, 3 points for a B, 2 points for a C and 1 point for a D, no points for an F. You get extra quality points if you have taken AP or Honors/Advanced courses. Then you add up all the points and divide by the number of courses taken.

Ex: 5 A's and 3 B's: 5x4=20 + 3x3=9 29 pts total divided by 8 classes=3.625

First of all, be thankful for your grading scale. Here an a is 94-100 b is 85-93 c is 77-84 and a d is 70-76. To calculate your gpa an A is 4 a B is 3 a C is 2 and a D is 1. At my school you add .17 to all honors/AP classes. Take all the numbers, add them up and divide by the number of classes:
ex:
89% -> B -> 3
94%-> A -> 4
83%-> C -> 2 -> AP class = 2.17
99% ->A-> 4 -> honors class = 4.17
77%-> C -> 2
91% -> B -> 3

3+4+2.17+4.17+2+3= 18.34

18.34/6= 3.056= 3.1 GPA
