GPA Requirement Question

I got a 4.0 unweighted my first semester.

If I get straight C's second semester (2.0 GPA) will that be viewed as being under the 3.0 requirement? Or will they look at the average GPA between the two semesters (3.0 in this case)?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I haven't been able to find an answer to this specific question on the board.

I think that would still meet the 3.0 GPA requirement (I've heard from some ppl that had below 3.0 1st sem that they needed an average of 3.0 for both sems), but it would look awfully, awfully bad for UCLA. 4.0 to 2.0? I think that would be reason enough for rescinding. ;)

I'd stick with getting at least a 3.0 2nd sem as well.

And I think we need some kind of FAQ on this board for questions, since some questions keep getting asked.

I'm aiming for a 3.0 this semester, but I'd feel way more comfortable knowing that I could get something as low as a 2.0 without getting my admission rescinded. It's something I'd hate to rely upon, but I'd feel better if I knew it was there.

well, why risk it? you got a 4.0 before. you're capable of getting great grades. so unless you compeltely slack, you wont get a 2.0. you can manage a 3.0 easily, and getting that 3.0 will guarantee nothing goes wrong.

I feel the same way Tony, I'd love some more leeway too, but I'll just aim for the 3.0 to avoid complications.

you cannot recieve more than 3 C's in your entire senior year.

"you cannot recieve more than 3 C's in your entire senior year."

Good point. So you can't get a 2.0, Tony.

Just curious, where does it say that..?

Bump... any info on where it says that thing about only 3 C's?
