doesnt it suck if you go to a school where the classes are extremely hard and teachers dont jus give A's out for no reason? many private schools are like this. Do colleges realize that GPA is not an accurate way to evaluate someone....

Yes it actually is. How can four years of high school academics not be an accurate way of evaluating someone? If your school is tough, it will show how you compare with other students through the class rank, if you have one.

no rank. ---------------

What is your GPA?

Then there are AP Tests, standardized testing, and other factors along with GPA.

Colleges are well away that some high schools are tougher than others.

i hear colleges like to use ur gpa to compare you to other students in your high school. (or at least my guidance counselor says)

i'm in a similar position as you. i see kids from other schools all the time who have 3.9s but cannot break 2000 on the new SAT. meanhile in my school, 2200+ is not a big deal but rather commonplace.
