I just got a copy of my transcripts and I found out my unweighted GPA was a 3.58 and my weighted GPA was a 3.85 (i've taken/taking 8 AP classes so far). I've only gotten A's and B's. I have an average of 3 B's a semester and from the looks of things, I've always gotten a B in my English and French classes. I've always gotten A's in science, social studies, and technology, and mostly A's in Math. I want to be a science major for undergrads, preferably Biology.

Just in general, how good / bad does my GPA sound?

People will be happy to come on this thread and tell you 3.58 is great. Or it’s not so great. Or it’s FINE if you want to go here but not if you want to go THERE, etc. Rather than spend your time crunching the numbers, I recommend you start looking around to find schools that interest you. Your research will show you how your numbers look in comparison to admitted students at various schools, and you can use that information to create a list of schools where you’d like to apply: some schools where your acceptance is more or less assured, others where it seems likely, others where it would be a stretch. A good resource for many students is Naviance; if your school has this, you can look to see how people with your GPA and test scores fared in terms of admission to different schools. If that’s not available to you, there are plenty of objective sources of this information. And when I say plenty, I mean PLENTY. There are some people on College Confidential who feel anything other than a 4.0 unweighted is the kiss of death. There are many more who take a broader view. But your own research, using objective sources, is going to be the most meaningful in terms of finding schools where your GPA is just dandy.
