Gpa

Seeemingly, IB programs is better that AP programs. Anyways, my school doesn't have IB program as well so my school is cheap as well O_O;;. I try to search for high school that offer IB program but I can't go to that school (I don't have address near that school.) Well I think I"ll go to private school that has IB program.

My school doesn't have an IB program either. Is there anyway to persuade school officials to start them?

It is not that easy. The school needs to be inspected by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization). The IB is much better than the AP's... even the SL's. The only accolade could be a British A-Level.

Anyway, does anyone knos how to calculate GPA's for IB students... 7's and a 6's are both A???...

7 - A+
6 - A
5 - B+
4 - C+
3 - D
2 - ...
1 - ...
0 - ...

Is the scale like that??

What I'm often told is that many colleges completely ignore your GPA and use letter grades to judge candidates (which is still awful b/c in my school, you need a goddamn 95% for an A :(). I mean, they can't possibly judge candidates on their GPAs b/c of the vast differences between schools. And to make things worse, my school is now changing its system in the middle of my high school career. (A=93%, .5/1.0 for honors/AP instead of .25/.50) Why the hell did they have to do it now? :( (Don't answer that, this is just me fuming). Anyway, any good college is smart enough to do the right thing and take raw GPAs with a grain of salt. Instead, they interpret GPAs using rank (if given), other applications they have from the same school for that application year or ones prior to it, and standardized test scores (e.g. a low GPA and high test scores tells them that maybe your school has a tougher grading system).

alfuru,

IB has + and - in addition to the seven levels, ie 6+, 5- etc.

a 7+ is a 99 and can only be given in subjects like math.. in history you can forget it.
7- is 95
6 is 92
6- is 90
5+ is 89
5- is 85
i don't know any more conversions beyond that..i try not to think about them...
