My school uses a 4.3 unweighted GPA scale. With this system, and A+ in an IB/AP course is worth 6.02 towards your weighted GPA. I know this isn’t standard, but I’m struggling to find the GPA system used to compare with a college’s average GPA.
I understand the point values of the 4.0 scale, but do you include credits here?
I’m more confused about the weighted GPA scale. From what I could find, you add .5 to each honors class and 1.0 to each IB/AP class during calculation. My school also offers advanced classes. Are there included in any way? Do credits impact this number?
If credits do have an impact, how many credits are each class worth? My transcript has full year classes as 5 credits with lab classes as 6. Half year classes are worth 2.5 credits and I have a special class (TOK for IB) that is only worth 1 credit. Is there a different, standard way to do this?
Thanks so much for your help!
