Gpa

How does penn calculate gpa’s? weighted? unweighted? does it include freshman year?
correct me if this UNWEIGHTED scale is wrong:
A = 4
A- = 3.67
B+ = 3.33
B = 3.00
etc.

Also, any advice on strong ECs?

Close, but actually

A = 4
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0
etc..

pretty much the standard deal. but without A+'s

oh wait im sorry. thats for high school. since some schools don't have -'s and +'s, it would depend.

So when my high school sends my GPA to Penn, Penn uses my high school's system? Does Penn have its own system of calculating GPA? My school doesn't include freshman year into my GPA, but I have straight A's which would definitely ultimately boost my GPA. Would Penn include my A's as a freshman in my gpa?

I would guess that they'll take a look at them, but put more emphasis on soph/jr years.

they unweight everything and do it by their own formula... thank god... frosh gpa 4.5 sophomore 4.65... junior... 4.75?

What happens when the school does GPA using numbers, i.e. 100, 99, 98, etc. (A is cutoff at 94) and they only have weighted GPAs at the school?

well... i'm sure they have unweighteds... just not reported, i had to specifically ask for mine* and i assume they use the same scale... but do it to 4...
