<p>I'm pretty sure everyone here will tell you that there is no minimum, applications are graded holistically, it depends on your field, there are no guarantees for grad school, they're not number crunchers like undergrad, etc. Talk to your professors in the field.</p>

<p>One could indeed get a 4.0 and not get admitted anywhere. But often, there is a 3.0 minimum for consideration at the Graduate School (as opposed to departmental) level.</p>
<p>I think it also depends somewhat on what you mean by "leading."</p>
