Grad School- DPT

Currently I am a Fitness/Wellness major at a 4year school, but I'm planning on going to grad school for Physical Therapy. I've heard that because my school does not have a Doctorate in Physical Therapy program that it will be really hard for me to get into other schools, despite being a student athlete with pretty good grades. Does anyone know how true that statement is? I know how competitive DPT programs are and I was wondering if I transfered to a school with a DPT program after my undergrad work, will it increase my chances because I'm being "fed" into the program??
Thanks!
