I was thinking about pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering for my undergrad. I chose this field mainly because I hear that it is a very flexible degree when it comes to grad school admissions. Also, I'm very interested in biomedicine/biomedical engineering, and I've recently developed a great interest for petroleum geology & petroleum engineering as well. I know that petroleum engineering & chemical engineering aren't all that similar, but would I be able to pursue a graduate degree in petroleum engineering w/ a BS in chemE and still have the same job opportunities/salary as a person who did a BS & MS in petroleum engineering?
Would the BME graduate path be open to me also? Would my job opportunities/salary after grad school differ from anyone who has stuck with that grad school specialization in their undergrad years as well?

I don’t know how common it has become to combine chemical and bio engineering, but Georgia Tech has done so. According to their website it looks like all of your options are realistic: [Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech](http://www.chbe.gatech.edu/prospective/ugrad/index.php)

Thanks.

Anyone know whether I’d receive the same salary & job opportunities as a Petroleum Engineer if I pursue PetE in grad school with a ChemE undergrad? Same with BME, if I realize I’m more into that.

If you are being recruited after a graduate degree, then it is the grad degree that is important, not the undergrad.
