Is it safe to say that the top graduate schools in U.S. News rankings have good undergrad programs as well?

I would think so. The ranking won't be completely accurate but I'm pretty sure if a graduate program is in the top 20 or so its undergraduate would be pretty good as well.

not entirely. places like harvey mudd and olin do not have graduate programs and therefore are not even ranked.

top grad programs will have good undergrad programs...but that does not mean that they are the best in undergrad...because some schools ONLY do undergraduate education.

Actually US News has a completely separate ranking for schools that don't have graduate programs, even for undergraduate rankings. So, the graduate rankings should be pretty accurate for undergraduate as well since the same group of schools are surveyed in each ranking list.

yes, i understand that. perhaps i did not phrase what i said clearly.

you can't look at grad school rankings and assume that those hold over to undergrad rankings because strictly undergrad schools are not included in that survey.
