Does Mt. Holyoke practice grade deflation?

Here’s the thing: grade deflation is often very overblown. Part of it is that it’s sometimes a shock to go to college and realize your HS grades were inflated (a lot of HS inflate grades). To answer your question, no, there’s no indication of any kind of deflation policy at MHC. This kind of thing is very professor-specific, if there’s a curve, they decide the appropriate average and shift scores according to that. I’ve not experienced anything that I thought was unfair in relation to a grading policy.
